Calculation of the punching according EHE-08 and EHE-98 (Spanish codes).

• The punching shear appears in the supports of bidirectional surface elements on punctual elements due to the accumulation of efforts in the union.
  
  
• The usual case is between waffle slabs and solid slabs on columns, however it also appears on columns leaned on flexible footings, or the leaning of very wide flat beams on columns of small section.
  
  
• The punching concept is similar to the shear at beams but acting on a surface element. As the shear at beams generates tractions parallel to the sides of a triangle with a vertex on the column head (cracks appear perpendicular to traction), the punching generates tractions on a surface parallel to a cone with the apex at the head of the column (cracks appear in a conical surface with the apex downwards.)
  
  

• For the punching calculation, there is currently no online functionality.
